The Stonz Project
The Stonz Project is an Environmental Awareness Art Project by the Artists Susan Rubini and Jeff Abbott from Utah and California. Their concept is to create and assemble simple yet flowing and beautiful one-of-a-kind art pieces as necklaces and bracelets, designed to connect the wearer with the gifts of the Earth, semi-precious stones. The STONZ Project is available in boutiques, yoga centers, galleries and gift shops to bring these intriguing gifts to participants all over the country. Our goal is to have as many people as possible wear STONZ, selecting the piece that they love the most.
Susan Rubini is an Expressionist painter. She paints series of works to highlight environmental issues. She is currently working on a series of The Joshua Tree National Park in California. The trees are painted as portraits to highlight their value as historic botanical treasures and also to highlight the fact that the Joshua Trees are in peril due to environmental changes such as pollution. She is also painting a series of Mt. Timpanogos paintings, again as Expressionist pieces, to highlight the value of the mountain as a spiritual presence in our developed world. The settings in the paintings are from various sites around the Wasatch Mountains. Susan also paints animals, capturing their inner nature as they eye their prey.
Jeff Abbott is a wood sculptor using reclaimed wood to create beautiful art work and give new life to otherwise discarded pieces of wood. His creations work with the natural beauty of the wood, highlighting the natural grain and form to create his art. Jeff is often found hauling huge roots up from creek beds to create his sculptures, thus saving our landfills. Precious stones are often placed in the sculptures to add beauty to the pieces and to create an awareness of the gifts from nature.
Both artists use their knowledge of color and stones to create the STONZ pieces. STONZ are available in many lengths and color combinations and are suitable for men and women. Wear These Precious Gifts!
