Eckankar
Eckankar means "Co-worker with God." It offers ways to explore your own unique and natural relationship with the Divine. Its teachings, which resurfaced in 1965, emphasize the value of personal experiences as the most natural way back to God. Whatever your religious background, they show how to look and listen within yourself, to expand your consciousness, and enjoy spiritual freedom. Learn how to see, perhaps for the first time, how to lead a happy, balanced, and productive life, and put daily concerns into loving perspective.
Members of Eckankar (ECKists) come from all walks of life. ECKists are homemakers, business people, and retirees. They are professionals, educators, scientists, and farmers. They come from all age groups, all races and nationalities, and all religious backgrounds. Eckankar has been taught in Utah for over 30 years. The Eckankar Center serving Utah is located at 8105 South 700 East in Sandy. Here, seekers can receive information about Eckankar, attend introductory presentations, book discussions, and other spiritual functions open to the public. Members also volunteer their time leading classes, workshops, and introductory presentations to the public given at prominent establishments.
Like most people, ECKists have families, careers, and daily struggles. They live a life of joyful participation in the mainstream of society. ECKists know they're responsible for their own experiences in life. They know tomorrow is the result of today's thoughts, feelings, and actions. They also know that giving love and service to their family and community is one way to increase their understanding of God's love.
Eckankar is a spiritual path that helps people to become empowered and accountable in all aspects of their lives. This includes their physical well-being as well as their mental, spiritual, and physical environments. By using the mantra “HU” (pronounced hue), we help the individual to acquire clarity and awareness on how to be self-reliant, accountable, and responsible in this lifetime and to find his/her own inner peace. We believe tomorrow is the result of today's thoughts, feelings, and actions. We also know that giving love and service to our community is one way to increase our understanding of God's love.
